From sunrise to sunset, the 1st arrondissement buzzes. Besides being the capital’s chic area, at the heart of the business district, this arrondissement is also home to some hidden cultural treasures. The most famous ones not to be missed? The Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Palais Royal, the Comédie Française or even the Tuileries gardens.
For shopaholics of designer goods, there are two places that mustn’t be missed: Place Vendôme with its prestigious jewellers and Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré with its legendary and sublime fashion boutiques, such as Colette.
