Tourism et Leisure

Treat yourself to a jaunt with history

Wake up in the restful setting of a cloister or convent; experience what it’s like to live in a fortified castle; drink in the energy of St-Germain des Près, an emblematic and romantic district of Paris; or stay just a short walk away from the Louvre, or from Place Vendôme. France Patrimoine hotels provide you the opportunity to experience the charm and authenticity of some remarkable places.
Our establishments are based in popular tourist regions all over France, offering wonderful historical, cultural, gastronomic and architectural discoveries.

Paris

We have four hotels in the centre of the French capital: the 4-star Saint James & Albany Hôtel-Spa in one of the most beautiful districts of Paris, opposite the Tuileries gardens and just a stone’s throw from the Louvre Museum or the chic Faubourg Saint-Honoré; Auteuil Tour Eiffel 3-star hotel in the elegant 16th district of Paris, with a number of visits nearby; Turenne Le Marais 3-star hotel, right next to Place des Vosges; and Hôtel Vaneau Saint-Germain, in the Saint-Germain-des-Près district, full of art galleries and boutiques. What can we tell you about Paris? It’s the capital of luxury, of fashion, of romance, of gastronomy, of museums, and more. In short, the possibilities are endless.

The Loire country

Here, in this region known for its famous châteaux, its wine cellars and troglodyte sites, between the regions of Anjou, Touraine and Poitou, is the Hôtel Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud, situated in a UNESCO heritage monument.
Close to the village of Fontevraud, and 15 km from Saumur, don’t miss the prestigious horse riding school: "Le Cadre Noir".

Burgundy

The 3-star La Petite Verrerie hotel is at the heart of Burgundy, between vineyards and the massif of Morvan.
This part of the region, Le Creusot, combines its industrial past with extraordinary natural areas. Don’t miss: the Château de la Verrerie, former crystal works of Queen Marie Antoinette, the Château de Brandon (11th to 17th centuries) and the Château de Couches (12th to 15th centuries), the Combes Park, which is a natural 70-hectare park on the hilltops offering a number of activities.

Alsace

Surrounded by the German, French and Swiss borders, Alsace is a multi-cultural region. The list of what’s to discover here is long. The museums are many and those who appreciate good wine come in number every year to travel the wine routes. The Cour du Roy 3-star hotel is in the middle of the town of Saint Louis, near Basel and its airport. The Pays de Saint-Louis-Huningue runs along the Rhine river, on the borders of France and Germany. It is ideal for river tourism. Also not to miss in Saint-Louis is the Book Fair in May that each year attracts some of the most famous authors.

  Champagne-Ardenne

Situated in the largest fortified castle in Europe (35,000 square metres), built in the 15th century and a listed historical monument, the Château Fort 3-star hotel overlooks the town of Sedan at the heart of the Ardennes. Between Meuse and Semois, running at times along the Franco-Belgian border, the Pays de Sedan and the Pays de Bouillon are characteristic of the natural charms and mysteries of the Ardennes, which is made up of high plateaus covered with forests, winding valleys and splendid views.

Midi-Pyrénées

The Hôtel Abbaye Ecole de Sorèze is between Toulouse, Albi and Carcassonne, south of the Tarn. The village of Sorèze is situated on one of the last spurs of the Montagne Noire [Black Mountains], at the foot of the Berniquaut fortress, on one of the major Saint James of Compostela pilgrimage routes. The region has a wealth of places to visit. In addition, in Midi-Pyrenees, urban heritage rivals with natural heritage, with three Regional Nature Parks, one National Nature Park and seven towns that are listed “Villes et Pays d’Art et d’Histoire” (artistic and historical towns) and 30 of the “Plus beaux Villages de France” (prettiest villages in France).

Provence

Built in the 13th century in Saint-Maximin, the Couvent Royal 3-star hotel is a real gem. Situated at the heart of Green Provence, it is the finest Gothic building in the South East of France. Here are just some of the places to visit in the South, which is rich in history, beliefs, traditions and unusual monuments: the basilica and crypt that house the relics of Saint Marie Madeleine, the medieval district of Saint-Maximin, the “villages perchés” (hillside villages) route, the pottery of Varages, etc.
And nearby: Aix en Provence, Saint-Tropez (80km), Port Grimaud (80 km), Le Luberon, the calanques of Cassis, and the Gorges du Verdon.

We also have two hotels in Avignon. The 4-star Cloître Saint-Louis hotel and the 4-star Avignon Grand Hôtel. The Avignon Papacy left its mark on the town’s architecture, with the Popes’ Palace, the ramparts, the famous bridge, etc. Avignon is also the capital of art with its yearly theatre festival (founded in 1947 by Jean Vilar). This usually takes place between 10 July and 5 August. Some 120,000 spectators hurry to Avignon to discover young theatre companies or to admire the shows.
